This week our choir have been very busy putting on their show ‘The Wizard of Oz’. For the last couple of months over 50 children have been hard at work rehearsing twice a week after school. Many of the staff have also been hard at work making costumes, scenery and props. [...]]]>

This week our choir have been very busy putting on their show ‘The Wizard of Oz’. For the last couple of months over 50 children have been hard at work rehearsing twice a week after school. Many of the staff have also been hard at work making costumes, scenery and props. All the hard work has paid off as the show is full of wonderful singing and acting, brightly coloured costumes and some spectacular scenery!

Well done to everyone who has helped to make this such a special production.

I had some Chilli sauce, it was so, so hot. I had just a little bit [...]]]> During Mexico week we made Guacamole and Salsa. It was  fun; The onion made most of us cry. The tomatoes were all juicy and not nice but in the end it tasted amazing, I loved it!

I had some Chilli sauce, it was so, so hot. I had just a little bit but then Mr Britton had a big dollop of it on a Tortilla chip and eat it all in one go. I don’t know how jhe likes it, My mouth is still hurting.

The Salsa was very spicy after adding chills and onions. next we made the Guacamole using avocados(which are native to Mexico) When the dips were ready we all tried them. They ere lovely with nachos and cheese although it was too spicy for Mr Saunders.

As part of our School Travel Plan research we sent out a questionnaire to all families and members of the school community. Many parents and carers stated that they would like their child to cycle to school but expressed concern regarding road safety. Therefore, we decided to organise cycling training for children in Years 4, 5 and 6. This week our second group of children completed their Level 1 Bikeability training. Well done to all those children who took part. We look forward to seeing you riding your bikes to school. A very special thank to Cycloan who have delivered the programme so effectively this term.

Due to its success, we aim to organise more Level 1 sessions in September along with Level 2 for those children who have already done this. There is also the possibility that we might be able to give Year 3 the chance to get involved with the basic level. 3G have been growing plants as part of our science work. Today we picked our Radishes and they were enormous. All of the children too some home to eat with their tea.
